Midnight Energy Associates conducted meetings with the key players in Denmark's wind power sector to understand the necessary framework requirements to encourage wind power generation. We also looked into the change in system operation requirements and effect on conventional reserve requirements.

To enocurage private sector investments, the invetsors are keen to see:

• Stable and fixed payments for their wind power investments
• A form legal and regulatory framework
• Ability to manage system balancing with increased amounts of wind power
• Streamlined licensing and land allocation
• Ability to repartriate foreign capital when required

We have already advised one regulator in Asia on the policies required to encourage wind power in the electricity system, based on the lessons obtained from the Denmark experience.
